“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.”
Compare this verse with a similar quote from the Book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah looks and the Spirit gives us what darkness does to man from his Jewish sensibilities, “I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.”(Je.4:23)
The Spirit similarly gives two identical statements for which we shall for instance consider the first verse, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth,” compare with “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;”(Re.21:1) We have in both cases one from the standpoint of God and from the Son respectively. Jeremiah is viewing Jesus Christ in his Omega aspect. Thus when Jesus tells a parable he is consigning his nation- the wicked to the outer darkness. “But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”(Matt.8:12). Jesus refering to the faith of the Gentile centurion and remarks where the people of the law for their disbelief would be sent. Jeremiah as Jesus after he suffered from their wickedness. He serves as as a stand-in for Jesus.
Hannah’s prayer on the other hand annotates darkness as where the wicked are sent after the day of judgment. “He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.”(1 Sa.2:9). At the end of parables Jesus refers the place for the wicked and unprofitable servants. (Matt.22:13;25:30). Gnashing of teeth and weeping tells of the world where their policies go wrong and the rulers go from bad to worse, and the people find their dreams turn nightmare.Do we not see it even now, post-pandemic poverty level with the middle-class wiped out? The earth for them is without form and void.
Faith is what holds the kingdoms of the Father and Son together. Referring the two worlds framed by the word of God the unseen aspect of Father of light leads to the quality of light,- and it is Person specific. Jesus Christ is the true Light. So the wicked who dare not come to that light because their works are evil, have not stepped out of that outer darkness. So we have to accept outer darkness explains lack of faith. Faith without works therefore is dead.
Do we not see the outer darkness from where we are given an alternate reality? The movers and shakers may be placed in high positions of trust and they are listened to. Yet they are already cast out into outer darkness, but they have their base, and judges are politicised, so the law and justice tell their own story,- and in the eyes of the denizens of darkness, citizens are to be lied to and the migrants are vermin and many other similar viewpoints.
