As father of lies what Satan’s DNA makes of his soul shall show result of the web of deception, and when he speaks it is a lie. His coming across another beast like him is nothing to be wondered at. Satan choosing a serpent to beguile man was not accidental. If God holds court in the midsts of cherubim or fiery serpents, which are ever jealous for the glory of God as the incident of the brazen serpent on a pole in the wilderness teaches,Satan is a shameless copycat. It is thus the lamb with two horns now makes his entry. He spake like a dragon.
Naturally when the serpent spoke he served Satan’s interests so he gave a sermon, in which he dropped His name as convincingly as he could. Just as the pastor who would ask, ‘Are you saved?’ the serpents puts the question,”Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”. After engaging Eve’s attention he gives a homily, “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods,” You shall be as gods!
