Job 23:10-14 “Unity of the Spirit”

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold./ My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined./ Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

“But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth./ For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me:”

Earlier Job asked,”Shall any teach God knowledge?”(21:22a) Job confesses whatever he knows has its source in Him. When he says “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth (19:25)” it is precognition and outside the realm of human intellect. It is faith.

“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God(Ro.10:17)”. St Paul writes about the righteousness which the Israel sought at their terms “But not according to knowledge./ For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth./ For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.(Ro.10:2-5)” The word of faith owes to truth inscribed in inward parts of man.”

“The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;/ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation(Ro.10:8-10)”.

God is a Spirit and unity of the Spirit is according to the will of God.”And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father(Gal.4:6)”. Our sonship did not arise because of our will.St John makes it clear:”But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:/ Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.(John 1:12-13).” In the Land of the living we are negotiating two worlds at the same time, of the flesh and of the Spirit where our knowledge comes because God predestinated us according to his Will. “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:(Col.2:10)”
