Job 14:2-3 Parable #5 “Son of man”

He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not./ And doth thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?“(vv.2-3)

The Psalmist also wondered about it and we have his thinking on it in these verses. “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?/ For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour./ Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet(Ps.8:4-8)

The phrase ‘Thou has put all things under his feet’ clearly establishes of whom the Psalmist has in mind. It was by a decree that God established the everlasting covenant to which all subsequent laws are dependent. “I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee(Ps.2:7)”. The Holy Spirit the third office in Trinity introduces the Father Son relation which we shall consider as Fellowship of God with Man. The man component is God the Son. Thus when we consider trinity each one of us has a corresponding triune attributes, body spirit and soul. Why is it so clearly specified?

Jesus Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,/To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons./ And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father./ Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ(Gal.4:4-7). We become adopted in the Son so we are represented in the eternal covenant. Jesus Christ is eternal as attested by the Spirit,”Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever(He.13:8)”. This means that we were foreknown.

When Job sets a parable his argument ‘Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble(14:1)” He is referring to Jesus Christ as well.. Having given the context let us tackle his assertion,”And bringest me into judgment with thee?/ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.’ what shall we answer?

The Spirit has set these parables for our instruction and we have the assurance,”Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new(2 Co.5:17)”.

Here are two verses to meditate upon:

1.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:/ Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God./ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth(John 1:12-14).

2.

“All things were made by him(the Word); and without him was not any thing made that was made./ In him was life; and the life was the light of men(John 1:3-4)”.
