Job 14: 6 Parable #3 “Rest’

Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.”

Here we have Parable# 1 begun from chapter-10. What is the rest from the labor?

Man as an hireling has expectations. St Paul in al his missionary journeys sought to be not a burden on others.”For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat(2 The.3:10)”. He writes elsewhere,”For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God(1 The.2:9)”. He was a tentmaker by trade so we have this verse that in Corinth he stayed with Aquila and Priscilla,’And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers(Ac.18:3)’. We have guilds and chapters where our professional interests bring us together. It must surely follow the adage,’birds of the same feather flock together. With a corruptible body each follows certain man-made rules since we seek rules of self-preservation as with other species. Murmuration of starlings as much as it is grand spectacular air show, they simply want to increase their chances of survival against the predatory birds.

Job is praying to God of his fair shakes so he may eke out his living without further terrors.

Here we have a verse that is the Law of God in His kingdom. As in the case of the fossils are one manner of collecting evidence, we have also evidence that is in the Land of the living and which is spiritual. It is what the book of life carries.

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

For those who does not equally his curse applies. What Moses set forth in Deutronomy.ch 30 applies. Laws of Moses as well as laws of Nature are pendent on the everlasting covenant between God and Man. “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.(Re.22:19)”

In the same chapter we have a list,”For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lieRe.22:15)”.

We shall continue with vv.7-13. This is part of the Parable #4 “ If a man die, shall he live again? (v.14)”

For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:

12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
