Meditations-Psalm 140- Mind of Christ

When God has possessed our reins before worlds began it is a clear indication why are we here for. Divine Will is God and in His Mind it was foreknown we would be adopted in His Son. We have been called. So only concern for us is to make the election certain. Obeying the word of God is the only way.

When the Spirit qualifies that Father Son relationship as ‘only begotten’ Son we need understand it is in a special sense outside the normal sense of the world. God is One and His Will shall never deny His nature. So when He says’ Let there be light’ It is Will expressed. The Spirit adds ‘And there was light (Ge.1:3)’ It explains what He willed was also accomplished. By the same token when the Palmist says we are His ‘peculiar treasure’ it falls under the special context where  we have been set down in time and space for His purpose. God man and the Word are three components. Whatever God wills shall be accomplished and it shall be done according to the Word. We have been therefore has to remain in this Three where our salvation is assured if we remain obedient. We are given a new insight signifying law written on fleshy tables with which we put on Christ. What is Mind of Christ?

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:/Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:/But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:/And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross./Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:(Phi.2:5-9)”

Where God’s will and its Fulfillment is for our election to be confirmed what shall be our role? To be obedient as our Savior Lord showed us the way. There is no exception to this rule since the Word is clear: his Holiness shall not allow sin go unpunished. The world with  its alternate reality and ideologies are outside the Word like the tares in the Parable. When the Psalmist says,”Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? (Ps.139.21) It goes to show the mind of Christ seeing as God would view it. We do not fight the enemies of God with their weapons. We have instead the full armor of God and God shall fight the battles for us. Patience in the midst of persecution is what fruits of the Spirit produce in us. Without the Mind of Christ we would be the most miserable for we say, we are saved but the corruption of worldly filth with which we run after prosperity and endorsements of political parties makes a stink miles off. White evangelicalism, moral majority and such activism is not what Mind of Christ shall produce. Does anyone think that by interfering in the ways of God he shall escape the odium of a busybody? God has set the wicked appointed for destruction and it shall come not a second soon.

Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
