The Voice of the Lord- Ps.29:

” The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve…” Ps.29:9
Is it not peculiar that the voice of the Lord makes the hinds to calve whereas man who belongs to homo sapiens cannot hear? One speaks of cause and effect and why then the voice of the Lord is lost on man? On no other creature did the Lord God breathe his Spirit to make a living soul. Of this we read in the creation account thus “So God created man in his own image…(Ge.1:27)” The hinds do hear voice of the Lord and the number of calves is the effect.
Man being a living soul has other faculties with which to know and hear God. The Lord is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. (Jn.4:23). Everything concerning our real worth,-, physical and interior lives included, is hinged on truth. It is what the living soul signifies. The hinds have their own manner of hearing the voice as nature has: seasons follow one after the other and rain and sunshine help the soil to give fruit in season. So the earth is full of glory of God which in another sense speaks of the earth as an inhabitable planet. Between God and man the goodness of the Lord is in the manner man can be helped. This understanding at a deeper level is of the spirit. It is what living soul would mean. Faith, to be precise is the key.
Faith for a Christian must be at a level where the spirit is not merely a Sunday thing but that permeate his whole existence. Daily devotion he spends exercising his spiritual faculties so the Bible is the word of God and whatever may be known of God is in the Scripture. Just as man holds the requirements body and mind as one his faith can see God the Father and God the Son as one. This is what we understand from the verse:
“He that receiveth you, receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me (Matt.10:40). He that heareth you heareth me:…(Lk.10:16)” This principle of Association dictates the power of the gospel. It is thus the gospel of God and of Christ is the currency with which he would wins souls for the Lord. In short the Gospel of Paul is validated by Jesus Christ and speaks of the same thing. In the Great Commission when Jesus sent his disciples the principle was the same. It was as though Jesus had delegated his Good News to be spread by the same Association. It takes all the way back to God who sent his only begotten Son to the world. Now let us go back to the quote from Luke. He that heareth you heareth me. So the voice of the Lord is the gospel that we accept as truth. The expression ‘deep calls to the deep’ works so heaven does connect with our very core. It is the spiritual discernment, glory of the Lord scattered with the command, “Let there be light.”
When we speak of the Bible as God document our faith by spiritual faculties have said Amen to it. One can imagine the manner the Christians who felt compelled to enter into disputation with skeptics about the creation calendar of God. Only that they used reason to fight what was strictly a matter for the spirit to deal with. Creationist vs Darwinism was a needless controversy. Literal approach to what of necessity must be understood spiritually only leads to controversies. Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God(1 Co.1:18,25-NIV)”. The hinds calve at the voice of the Lord whereas we are saved and are counted as though we have been foreordained to walk with him in glory. It is true as the Lord God is Truth indeed.
