Meditations: Word of this prophecy

“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the word of this prophecy, and keep those thing which are written therein… (1:3)”

Blessedness of the word is not only derived from hearing but also from keeping it. Epistle of James mentions of looking in a glass and forgetting ‘what manner of man he was’ (Jas.1:23-24). Here it is the word of prophecy and no exception. For reading creates faith and in this context it is all the more needful knowing that “…The time is at hand.” Compare this line with the first Psalm. Blessedness of reading where you shall be in eternity ought to keep you from ways of the ungodly. God knows who are his. Their righteousness shall be rewarded. ‘The Lord knoweth the way of the righteousness.’ On the other hand the ungodly shall surely perish. In the last days scoffers shall abound belting out fake news and dismissing coming of the Lord as a joke.(2 Pe.2:3-4)
We have come to the last days: signs are coming more often and these ought to urge children of God everywhere to take heed. A close reading of the epistle of St Peter points out the times we live now is ripe for judgment. (2 Pe.2:3-8) all of a sudden disaster shall overtake them who walk after their own lusts. Watch and pray.
