“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,(Re.12:7)”
Memorial in heaven is set up by God the Father in which any such testimony forming part of divine Will attests His godhead. God the Son in fulfilling it redounds to the glory of God. Such are His attributes Love and Holiness,- the only memorial that shall never change. All other memorials can change. In the previous post we considered the book of remembrance from the Book of Malachi. When the Psalmist writes,”Thine eyes did see my substance….when as yet there was none of them (Ps.139:16,15).” This substance is a memorial which reveals what it means to be foreordained. We also read what happens to those who receive the mark of the beast. “And all that ….worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life…(Re.13:8;Re.3:5)” So every name is a memorial in the divine Will and anyone who does not heed the counsel of the Spirit, the word and the will of God stands in danger of being blotted out of the book. A similar warning we read in the vision of the risen Christ among the seven golden lamp stands “…And will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent (Re.2:5).” Memorial is only valid as being called out but election requires a child of God abide in Christ and abound in good works for the glory of his Kingdom.
God the Father and God, the Son agree (Jn.10:30). So light signifies the Father while the children of light is the reality that God the Son represents.
Let us consider light as a memorial. It is a memorial that is set up in context of the earth. When God separated light from darkness we see two groups of people on earth taking shape, namely children of the light and of darkness(Ge.1:3). (This separation of light has caused skeptics to doubt the creation account of the Bible.) The divine Will set the separation and subsequently led to creation of the Sun on the fourth day. Here we see the will, memorial of light and it has a parallel in Ge.1:17 “And God set them to give light upon the earth.” This brings in the Father- Son relationship into focus. The Sun as a memorial shall give place to the glory of God. In new heaven and new earth there shall be no sun. (Re.21:1) So memorial of God is nature of God the Father given expression and is made new by the Son (Re.21:5). Here also it similarly changes the quality of the earth as new. New heaven and the new earth work in tandem. When Jesus Christ says”Behold I make all things new,” it denotes certain changes shall take place,- and the war in heaven explains it. Correspondingly on the earth there shall be series of events that mark the end times. “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be (Matt.24:21)”.
