Heaven and Earth-2

Heaven is designated as the Authority of the Lord God for everything concerning the earth. Figuratively God enthroned would indicate him as the Judge and Sovereign Lord.”A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes (Pro.20:8)”. Here we have God in terms of his sovereignty. In a vision Apostle John saw, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them (Re.20:11-15″. In terms of light we already discussed God as the Father of lights. White Throne is his Holiness before which holiness of the heaven and the earth differs in degrees.
In order to explain the nature of God for example His mercy the Spirit uses the earth in context. The aim of the Bible is to instruct man in righteousness. Consider this verse: ‘As the heaven is high above the earth so great is his mercy.’ (Ps.103:11;Is.55:9)So we see from the Creation Account, the heaven as a veil separating waters below from the waters above. Separations as in the mind of Lord God are given in a series. He separated light from darkness and waters by means of a firmament in the same way, so we could assume night and day is classified as distinct from evening and morning.
Mercies of God is thus distinct from grace attributing one to the Father and the other to God the Son. At the end of separating the land from the seas ‘God saw that it was good (Ge.1:10).When God said to man,’cursed is the ground for thy sake, the meaning is clear. Man’s sin visits on what God had created as good.
Man’s sin of obedience can shut the heaven as gates of brass .”And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron (Deut. 28:23,15)”. Heaven is a symbol of God’s Authority and it can punish man’s sin by drought hailstones, pestilence etc., Brass of iron doors that is shut would indicate heaven as a reflection of God’s anger. In the light of the quote from the Book of Revelation mentioned above ought to tell us a future state of the redeemed of the earth. At the throne who sits but Jesus Christ by whom grace and truth brought us to be part of his kingdom? The earth and heaven shall flee; and instead the kingdom of God establishes new earth and new heaven (Rev.21:1). So the throne of Judgment is throne of grace for all those adopted in God through the Son. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need(He.4:16)”. This throne is a throne of glory (Matt.25:31) The firmament or heaven is a symbol in the same manner ‘the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom (Matt. 27:51)’when Christ died on the cross.
In terms of symbols the earth suggests the veil while the heaven signifies grace and mercies the attributes of God. By the same token the parables of Jesus as a manner of comparing two qualities of the body and spirit celebrate the glory of God in terms of the earth. His earth as a field is fruitful and His servants are endowed with talents according to their several abilities and so on. Spiritual discernment is the glory of God and earth shall never be rid of it by sin. When Jesus Christ in his glory appears second time that glory will be in the Church and the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of God.
