Predestination: Ezekiel

The goodness of man can only be deemed as true by faith. Faith however without works is dead. (Jas.2:20) As Apostle James explains Abraham was justified when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar.

True mystery of predestination is tied up with God and not with man. God is not unrighteous to ask the impossible. The example of Ezekiel illumines us of his Mind under the Old Testament. Similarly after the Son of man had perfected divine Will with his sacrifice, predestination for the Church works on the basis of faith in Christ Jesus.

When God appointed Prophet Ezekiel as his watchman he equipped him. As Abraham was in his eyes a prophet God empowered him in a practical way. He gave him a roll to eat indicating all that he had to say to the House of Israel was there. It was significant that God made him overseer of what he were to speak. Predestination for the entire nation was by a symbolic act , delivered to him. He was the watchman and a shepherd in a manner of speaking. “When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him a warning he shall die in his sin….but his blood will I require at thine hand (Ez.320-21)”.
